My step niece and her fiance loved the classic Disney movies and so I decided that a Beauty and the Beast Bridal shower would be perfect for them. I thought a brunch would be nice and then I could use some of the china I had been collecting.
I found this invite on Etsy and loved it. I like being able to print my own and mail them out. There is just something fun about getting stuff in the mail, don’t you think? But sometimes if I’m short on time, a digital invite is the way to go.
I used simple white tablecloths and mixed and matched collected china pieces. I love the Beauty and the Beast theme because all that was needed was some red roses and beautiful tableware. Luckily the weather played along and we were able hold it outside. On the plates, I put the game “What’s in your purse?”. It’s a fun game that I found on Etsy for everyone to play while guests were arriving. Each person gets points based on items in their purse. It’s a great icebreaker game because everyone is discussing what is or isn’t in their purses.
For the menu, I baked a ham and blueberry scones, had fresh strawberries and punch. For dessert, I made “Grey Stuff” from a recipe I found on Lil’ Luna. You can find that recipe here. It was so delicious! Plus, as a bonus, I served them from my tea cart. I also baked rose apple pies. They were perfect for this! I found the recipe on To Simply Inspire and you can get that recipe here.
I had a table set up for gifts and cards. They already had most of the things that are normally given at a bridal shower, so I put on the invitation, “Sami and Robert already have a fully equipped castle and would appreciate monetary gifts or gift cards”. I had a cloche and covered a single rose with it. It was perfect! I also found these mirrors at the dollar store for the final touch.
I bought these cups at Amazon for the prizes. We played two games. The first one being “What’s in your purse” that I mentioned before and another game “How well do you know the bride?”. I loved how cute the prizes were and went with the theme. You can get them here. For a take home treat I made red chocolate roses with this mold. I used sucker sticks and put them in sucker bags. I tied them with green ribbon to make it look like rose leaves. So cute! I had to keep them inside until the very end so they wouldn’t melt.
My mom bought my youngest daughter this Beauty dress up from a farmers’ market in California. It took a bit of convincing, but she gave everyone a chocolate rose as they left.
Have you ever played the game at a bridal shower where you dress the bride up with toilet paper, ribbon and whatever else can be found to make her look like she’s wearing a wedding dress? We played that but I bought yellow table cloths and plastic roses at the dollar store so we could make Belle’s dress. We got pretty fancy and made sleeves and some frills!
I hope this inspires you to create your own bridal shower!
